Chapter

Seven

Tiffany’s face was buried deep in the pillow as Sheraud plummeted in and out of her. Her face screamed pain, but her moans lullabied pure ecstasy. Her back was arched, and her knees were weak. He was leaving in a few hours, and Tiffany needed to get her fix before he’d left. Lifting her head up and resting on the side of her face, so that she could breathe, she moved her hair from off of her face. It had grown so much, and as much as she’d been long overdue for a trim, Sheraud discouraged it. He loved her hair longer. The last time she’d had it in that style was when they actually were together.

When they were finished making love they cuddled facing one another. Sheraud closed his eyes out of exhaustion, and quickly dozed off to sleep. They hadn’t used a condom since they’d began sleeping together again. Tiffany hadn’t been concerned originally, but now it was time to renew her prescription for birth control, and she wasn’t sure she’d wanted to. Sheraud had only had one son, because he’d lost 2 children along the way with other women. Tiffany hadn’t had any, and hadn’t ever wanted any… until now. She stared in Sheraud’s peaceful face and remembered every line and crevice. She was in love. She’d never forgotten how wonderfully soft his full lips were against all parts of her body, or how his strong hands had wrapped around her from time to time to make her feel secure. She’d wanted a piece of him for forever back then, and she could feel that coming back to life now, but she was constantly at battle with herself.

What Sheraud had done to her back then had created the woman that she was now, and truth be told she was still that woman, considering he still had a woman to go home to. She was still on the side. He’d hurt her deeply before, so deeply that it changed her entire being. Was she sure she’d wanted to go back to something like that and give him the power to do it a second time? How would she know that there wouldn’t be another Tiffany, doing to her what she’d done countless times to other women? If there was, could she accept that? Would she ever be able to give up her own lifestyle?

Tiffany couldn’t get her mind together. Her thoughts were broken by the lighting and vibrating of her cell phone. Slowly lifting her body, so she wouldn’t wake Sheraud, Tiffany took the Unknown call in the next room.

“Hello?” She whispered, looking over her shoulder. She’d felt awkward doing this, because she’d never had to before.

“I’ve been calling you.” The voice on the other end responded. It was Malcolm.

“Malcolm, its 4:17 in the morning. Why and how are you calling me this late or early, I should say?” Tiffany said irritated. If she didn’t have so many clients, she would change her number.

“Well, I figured, I could come and talk to you.
